Check out these amazing and VERY simple window stoppers. You can also use the same concept for making a sliding glass door stopper but I would get some thicker wood.
The first thing you will need is going to be some wood. My husband got these at Lowe's for about $2.50 each. He trimmed them to the length of the windows, and made the handle out of the left overs. To do this, he drilled into each piece, lined them up and then hammered a nail to hold the handle in place. The wood originally was 5/8 x 36 square. It only cost about $20 for our entire house to have the extra window security on top of our alarm system. Can't ever be too careful :)
