Free Football Hat Pattern

I have another easy free crochet pattern for you! It's a free newborn football hat pattern - this one is PERFECT for beginners. I just finished writing this one up and it is still one of my favorites. So simple, yet so versatile and easy to make. If you like this, please share! :) You can download the PDF below. Size: Newborn

Gauge: 12 sts, 7 rows = 4” in dc with H (5mm) Hook

Finished Measurements: About 5” Height (crown to brim), 5 ¾” Wide

Materials:
H crochet Hook (5.00MM)
55 yards Worsted Weight (4-medium weight) Yarn
Tapestry Needle

Abbreviation Guide:
St = Stitch
Sl st = Slip Stitch
DC = Double Crochet
SC = Single Crochet

Ch = Chain

How to read this pattern: This pattern is worked in rounds, each round is joined with a slip stitch.

Instructions:
HAT
With Brown:
Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to make a ring
RD 1: Ch 2, 13 dc into ring
RD 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around
With White:
RD 3: Ch 2, dc in the same st, *1 in next st, 2 in next st* repeat around
With Brown:
RD 4-7: Ch 2, 1 dc in each st around
With White:
RD 8: Ch 2, 1 dc in each st around
With Brown:
RD 9: Ch 2, 1 dc in each st around
Finish off & weave in ends

For the threads: Use a tapestry needle and white yarn to make this design. Then weave in your ends and you’re done!
