Free Frozen, Rapunzel, Disney Princess Crochet Hat Pattern

Gauge: 12 sts, 7 rows = 4” in dc with H (5mm) Hook

Finished Measurements: About 5” Height (crown to brim), 5 ¾” Wide

H crochet Hook (5.00MM)
Larger Hook for Braids (K+)
80 yards Worsted Weight (4-medium weight) Yarn 

Abbreviation Guide:
St = Stitch
Sl st = Slip Stitch
DC = Double Crochet
Ch = Chain
RD = Round

How to read this pattern: This pattern is worked in rounds, each round is joined with a slip stitch.

Instructions:
HAT
Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to make a ring
RD 1: Ch 2, 13 dc into ring
RD 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around
RD 3: Ch 2, dc in the same st, *1 in next st, 2 in next st* repeat around
RD 4-9: Ch 2, 1 dc in each st around

FLOWER
Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to make a ring
RD1: Ch 2, 12 dc into ring
RD 2: Ch 2, 3 dc into same stitch, ch 2, sl st into next st, *ch2, 3dc into next st, sl st into next st* repeat around. (Total of 6 petals) Weave in ends. Leave a tail to attach to the hat. 
how to add braids to hat
SIDE BRAIDS
You will need to cut 12 pieces of yarn for each braid (so cut 24 total). I made mine about 12 inches long per strand but I would do it longer next time, I'd suggest doing 15 inch pieces and then trimming at the end if you think it's too long.

Bunch the yarn pieces together and fold in half. Insert a larger hook into the side of hat (between 2 dcs in the last round) pull the yarn through there and then take the tails and pull through so that it makes a knot with the strands hanging down as shown below. Cut off bottoms to level out. Do the same on the other side!
