EYES
Add two buttons to the hat for the eyes. These can be whatever color you want.

Use equal pieces – colors of your choice.
You will need to cut 12 pieces of yarn for each braid (so cut 24 total). I made mine about 12 inches long per strand but I would do it longer next time, I'd suggest doing 15 inch pieces and then trimming at the end if you think it's too long. Bunch the yarn pieces together and fold in half. Insert a larger hook into the side of hat (between 2 dcs in the last round) pull the yarn through there and then take the tails and pull through so that it makes a knot with the strands hanging down as shown below. Cut off bottoms to level out. Do the same on the other side!
You will start by wrapping yarn around your four fingers as shown in the picture. Make sure you leave a long tail when you start off. After you have it as thick as you are wanting, carefully take it off of your hand keeping it in the same shape. Now take a piece of yarn and wrap around the center of the wrap you made as shown and tie a very tight knot. (Make sure it is longer than needed so you can use the tail to attach to hat). Do a couple knots so it is secure. Now, you are going to start on one side and clip the loops all the way around so they are free standing pieces of yarn coming out of the ball. Now you have an adorable little Pom Pom which you can attach to the hat.
