How adorable is this free chevron crochet bible cover pattern? I designed the chevron stitching to fit the needs of this project, and I also designed a crochet stitch to create a straight edge for the chevron design. This is perfect for Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas, Teacher gifts, Valentine's Day, Birthdays, or just because! :) Enjoy and share this link or pin this post if you like it! You could always make it in some manly colors for Father's Day also!

How to read this pattern: This pattern is worked
in rows, turning your work after each row.
Note: You need to work your color chunks in sets of 2 rows (or
even #) in order to avoid unattractive stitching showing on the right side.
*I highly suggest watching
my YouTube videos on the chevron stitch & making the straight edge before completing
this project* www.youtube.com/user/katiescrochetgoodies
Instructions:
With Teal
RD 1: Ch 76, dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in next st
*dc3tog, dc in next 2 sts, 3dc in next, dc in next 2 sts* Repeat
to end.
NOTE: After your last dc
decrease (dc3og) you will just do one dc in each stitch until you reach the end-
Meaning you will need to skip and substitute your last increase stitch (3dc) with
just one dc so that the end stays straight.

*dc3tog in the next, dc in next 2 sts, 3dc n next st, dc in next
2* Repeat to end. You should have one st left at end, dc in that st.

Once you have finished this you will lay the piece flat and make
sure the right side is showing and wrap around where you want the cover to go.
Make sure the inside flaps are even for the front and back covers.
Then you will stitch together using a slip stitch as shown in the
picture below. Do this on all 4 ends.
