How to add straight edges to chevron

Did you make something using my Chevron Stitch Tutorial and want the edges to be straight? Straight edges with chevron makes any item look more professional and polished. That's why I created this tutorial and pattern technique to show you how to add straight edges to your chevron stitching.

Use this stitch to make the {Free Chevron Bible Cover}

Materials:
H Crochet Hook 
Worsted Weight Yarn

Abbreviation Guide:

DC = Double Crochet

SC = Single Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

Starting at the top of row 1, attach with color of choice hdc in same st,

*hdc next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, hdc next 2 sts, dc in next st* Repeat to end and on the opposite side. (I recommend watching my YouTube Video on this)
